Steps to getting LGSA Volunteers in compliance with USA Softball guidelines:
a. Register with LGSA.
b. Register with USA Softball.
c. Mandatory training completed (SafeSport and CDC Concussion protocols)
d. Background check approved. League will pay for two background checks per team. Each additional is $30.
All LGSA Volunteers need accounts on the following websites:

FIRST
ALL LGSA Volunteers need to first register as a volunteer on this website (Lompoc Girls Softball). This requires a SportsConnect account that can be created using the REGISTER button at the top of this page. If you have a SportsConnect account, log in and click on VOLUNTEER, then Find Volunteer Roles.
SECOND
ALL LGSA Volunteers need to get registered with USA Softball, then complete SafeSport training.
PLEASE FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS
Step 1. Go to www.registerusasoftball.com. Create/Update your profile.
Step 2. Go to "HomePlate" page and click on SafeSport tab.
IF NEW, click on SafeSport First Time User - Account Creation button to create your profile.
IF RETURNING, click on SafeSport Returning User Login button.
Note: If you are a Returning User but this is the first time logging into the new SafeSport site, you will need to use the "Forgot Password?" link in order to get back into the system.
Step 3. Take training that coincides with your need. (See page 9 of this document.... SafeSport How To Guide)
IF YOU ARE NEW you will have a 90 minute training.
IF YOU ARE RETURNING, follow the directions to know what year you need to do.
Step 4. COME BACK TO registerusasoftball.com , click on SafeSport tab and manually sync your accounts. This area should go from red letters to green showing you are complete. If you cannot manually sync, please email your completed certificate to [email protected].
We will be notified that you have completed those steps if you did the procedures explained above correctly.
THIRD
NEXT, all coaches must also do the CDC Concussion training. Go to HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training for Coaches.
IF NEW, create an account, then take the training.
IF RETURNING, log in then take the training.
WHEN COMPLETE, email the completion certificate to [email protected].
HOME STRETCH
Background checks are completed through USA Softball. Please follow the link below to complete the background check form. ALL background checks require a front and back copy of your driver's license.

Two checks per team will be paid for by LGSA. Each additional is $30. After background checks are paid for and conducted by USA Softball, you need to return to registerusasoftball.com and verify your background check.
